Pure Evil
The film ‘Pure Evil’ is David Bone’s passion project. David (late 30’s) is an untrained amateur film-maker with a few (mostly unfinished) short films under his belt – there’s a catalogue of reasons why they’re unfinished. However enthusiastic he is about his film he seems to be somewhat cursed. Everything that could go wrong does (often comically to all but David). But he won’t quit.
This is a comedy about geekism, friendship and smalltown dreams. It’s also a tragedy about blind passion. Each episode follows amateur film-maker extraordinaire David Bone’s attempt to make his low-to-no budget short film. It’s a funny, heart-warming, very human exploration of passion, integrity and what success really looks like. It’s also our love letter to cinema.
The series will be developed by PAUL FRASER and SHANE MEADOWS, the duo behind 24/7, A Room for Romeo Brass, Once Upon a Time in the Midlands, Dead Man’s Shoes, Somers Town and dozens and dozens of self-made short films.
